First Megabass........
First Megabass........
Hi All,
Have finally joined the dark side with my first Megabass Rod. In the end I just had to go with a Pagani Chaparral, the rod is awesome and has lived up to all expectations. At the moment it is coupled with an Alphas Type-R with all the usual mods including a set of Hedgehog Air BFS bearings. An awesome combo but I can already see an Alphas Ito or Zonda in my future.... . Anyway just that stoked I wanted to share!
Cheers,
John.

Beautiful
What are the specs on the rod, and what are your intended presentations?

Beautiful combo. Alphas Ito would look nice on that rod but the R Edition with your upgrades is perfect (especially with the Hedgehog Airs's).
I recently took the plunge on a Pagani F1-63Xp-Dti Meigeki and mounted a Shimano Cardiff 50S DC and finally settled on a tuned MB Bespoke Grigio Titanio as the companion reel. Reel colors and metals match the rod perfectly.
Throwing 1/8-1/4 ounce full variety of baits (soft plastic, blades, top-water, cranks, and spinners) targeting bass, big sunfish, and big Cichlids.
Fun Combo. Good luck with yours.

x2. I'd be stoked too!Gone Phishin wrote:Beautiful

Its funny because I was just looking at that rod online. I don't get a ton of time to fish in the summer, an hour here an hour there so I tend to throw a lot of topwater. I was thinking if I ever grabbed an ultimate topwater rod this just may be it.
Re: First Megabass........
Thanks, the Grigio Titanio is certainly the match for the Pagani.
On reflection I think you may be right about the Type R. I have a another I brought secondhand that has some rash on the side plates a hit with some moss green metallic and a silver avail handle might be a good match too.
The rod is the F2 6'6' 8-15lb. I will be primarily casting 1/8 to 1/4 oz topwaters and hardbodies with it to Barramundi in the North of Australia so for that application the outfit falls into the finesse category.
Cheers,
John.

I honestly find myself in that situation a lot as well. That is my justification for purchasing the Pop X stick.

Why did I look at this!
Looks like I may be buying a new topwater rod for the upcoming season.
Beautiful combo man, congrats!

Hi Deepblack,
Pam is running a Zonda Hedgehog on her's . Sweet combo. USA-Ret, when you are sick of the Meigeki, send it down here so I can dispose of it for you........

Re: First Megabass........
Beautiful configuration you have there...
Tonight the wife and I were watching Star Wars, and she mentioned that she thought a rod would look nice with a Count Dooku style light-saber handle. Spurred me to show her this thread.
Thusly, I might have just gotten the clear to blow more of "our" discretionary funding... So thanks.
