STELLA POWER!
STELLA POWER!
Went out fishing with my girlfriend to use my new stella 2500fe! Man its a beast!.. Fun time until it started raining and lightning and we were like two miles from the marina.
you guys will have to excuse the crap rod until I match the reel up with a Aaron martens limited f3-610XS DESTROYER!!
My girlfriend and future wife.. (she bought me a megabass is73C for my birthday, and presented it to me at the Westin in Greenville SC!! AMAZING TRIP! Of course I had to place the order, I got to hold it for like five minutes before she pryed it from my hands and held it till my birthday!!
I did not know this pic was being taken...........guess I look the coolest when fishing
Dana before we got to the Westin! (this was around march)

Re: STELLA POWER!
Cute girlfriend, sexy Stella They are unreal to fish. I put my FB Stella's to use the other week, cased light baits a mile, lot's of power when you turn the handle. Can't wait to see what Shimano does to the Stella this Fall after ICast. Happy fishing

Welcome to the club...and congrats on both counts. Heed some advice; don't take the lady for granted. The Stella is otherwise replaceable.
Re: STELLA POWER!
Yup!....Brad Pitt from Fight Club
....So is there much of a difference when you go that far up in $$$ in a spinning reel? The most expensive spinning reel I have was $85 and I think it's pretty awesome for the money. I know in most cases you get what you pay for in the Baitcaster world, but haven't even looked at a expensive spinning reel. How does the Stella compare to your other spinning reel?

Re: STELLA POWER!
Yes sir, night and day to any spinning reel I've used... Can't beat it for finesse.
Re: STELLA POWER!
My FE 2500 is for power techs...no finesse for me unless it is a smaller sized spinner or a shallow spool.
Re: STELLA POWER!
What techniques specifically do you use it for.... I always thought of it for drop shotting and shaky headzdragon1 wrote:My FE 2500 is for power techs...no finesse for me unless it is a smaller sized spinner or a shallow spool.
Re: STELLA POWER!
2500 FE is "too much" reel for just drop shot and shakey head IMO. I used mine spooled with 15lb or 20lb braid on a custom Lami XMG50 LP844 that has been extended to 7'3" for:
Jerkbaits from 78s to 110s
Topwaters from 1/4 - 5/8oz, poppers, Sammys, buzzbaits
Floating minnows upwards of 1/2oz
Jigs from 1/4 - 3/8oz
Spinnerbaits from 1/4 - 5/8oz
Tubes from 1/4 - 3/8oz
Cranks from Daiwa Peanuts to DT6s to 5/8oz lipless to 3/4oz blade baits to 1/2oz spoons.
Just about anything really in the 1/4 - 5/8oz range.
The Stella 2500 FE is a powerhouse spinner...you will not ever know its overall capacity with just drop shots and shakey head, IMO. This said, a spinning reel is about as versatile a rig as you can use for most FW techs. Enjoy.
