KTF Pixy
I just purchased this KTF pixy a couple weeks ago. I don't have a lot of info on it and would love to hear some details about them. I know it has the 6.4:1 gears which is pretty rare from my understanding. It has had the full pixilla upgrade minus the TDZ line guide, which I plan on doing in the near future. Thanks in advance for the info guys!

Re: KTF Pixy
That's not a KTF pixy..
That's an Airy red pixy with a KTF decal on it and some pixzilla upgrades..
6.4.1 gears are though, but you can get 6.8.1s from daiwa..

Re: KTF Pixy
If it has the 6.4:1 gear set and KTF bearings it may be the real deal

(on closer inspection it looks like the same reel.....)

Re: KTF Pixy
It does have the 6.4:1 gearset. I bought it from a reputable person and personally have no doubt that it is real. Thank you very much for info.

Re: KTF Pixy
BTW, I just went and compared my reel to the one that was in the link that you posted, and yes I do believe they are the exact same reel. But I really wanted to know more about the KTF pixy's, just for my own personal information. There is little to no info online that I have found yet.

Re: KTF Pixy
Its doesnt have the KTF spool though right?
Is it just a mod to the existing Airy red Spool that was done?
http://www.karil.co.jp/ktf/px68/
Either way the Pixy is a SICK reel..

Re: KTF Pixy
My stock Airy Red doesn't have that "teal" color washer on the spool. Mine is just the standard sliver color.

why would KTF make 6.4.1 gears when you can get 6.8.1s..
I think the Spool would be the real KTF upgrade..

Re: KTF Pixy
Talk about misinformation!
The original KTF Pixy Dragboatdriver owns is in fact the real deal. They are extremely rare - very few, rumors of about 12 or so were ever built back in 2005. KTF manufactured a custom set of 6.4:1 gears and ported and tuned the stock spool as pictured. Rest assured that this is a genuine and extremely rare gem. Congrats on such a find!

Re: KTF Pixy
The original airy red ktf pixy is among the greatest and rarest of reels! Came out at a time when many would've given their right arm for a faster pixy.... and, on top of that, they had tuned spools and upgraded bearings..... GREAT find, bravo!!!
Re: KTF Pixy
Exceptional procurement!
The Airy Red Pixy is my favorite among all the stock Pixy reels...KTF exclusivity on your reel makes it exceptionally special, and as rare as I have ever seen if only a dozen were ever produced!
Thanks for sharing.
