You might need to add a set of Megabass Hyper Corks or maybe even a set of original natural Daiwa Works corks to help set it off on the Rattle Viper - a perfect match for your amazing original KTF Pixy by the way! =D>

The original KTF Pixy Dragboatdriver owns is in fact the real deal. They are extremely rare - very few, rumors of about 12 or so were ever built back in 2005. KTF manufactured a custom set of 6.4:1 gears and ported and tuned the stock spool as pictured. Rest assured that this is a genuine and extremely rare gem. Congrats on such a find! =D>
As Gary and Ian have very eloquently said, the 2005 Red KTF Pixy is in fact very real. It was a modified and tuned 2005 Daiwa Airy Red. It has a tuned spool, upgraded bearings and a 6.4 gearset. I am not sure about the run size, but as I understand Daiwa was less than pleased with KTF's project. I hold two of these in my collection, both of which include the 5.8 gearset that was removed and the original KTF paperwork. I have modded the one I use regularly with a KTF carbon fiber handle, Steez anodized drag star, PX Type R cast cap, red levelwind screw, etc.
Image
As has also been stated, in 2010, KTF released the KTF PX68 reels. These reels had upgraded bearings, some internal work and a special KTF spool. They were/are available in both RHD and LHD varieties and in limited quantities. The spool is wicked. I shot a pic of the RHD one that i have which is still unused. I have full KTF accessories (Swept handle, carbon fiber swept drag star, etc) on the LHD one I use regularly.
Image
I also included a shot of my entire KTF family. It shows a pair of Alphas 105H (one blue and one purple), and a pair of T3 Air reels for which KTF makes the spool. These just arrived so I dont have feedback yet.

In any case, the KTF pixy varieties are among my favorite to fish! You will certainly enjoy yours.
Good Luck
Jay
