Will be testing these two out today....

Hedgehog air's, red avail screw set, zpi handle, knobs, bearings. Might throw a red avail side cover on...

Nice, my last order i got a whistle

Had them both out for a bit yesterday. Spooled both with the same amount of line. Xg on 6'2 Ultima, Xg limited on 6'5 Expride. Pretty much identical performance :big grin:

The man has spoken. Excellent pictures! Seems like a zpi pentagram bfc star drag will compliment your new reel nicely!

Now its a problem for me since both are identical in performance.
But I can't resist red tuning parts on my reels. Might just have to get another.

Read somewhere the limited spool has ribs on the inner walls to compliment spool strength.
I pretty much punished my red ktf spool. Had about 25m of line on it and i jammed the spool to prevent getting stripped by a catfish of estimated 6-7kgs. Landed the fish and no deforms noted to the spool.
Really surprised at the strength of the thin-walled design.

Do u guys use your thumbs in a pinch to stop fish on such finesse spools?

The limited spool fits the non limited XG. I posted a pic of it somewhere. But the reel is worth the buy just because of the weight loss and shiny black paint

This will be my last "Where are the Shimanos" post of the spring...it's game time from now on, no new gear until late fall.

You should pick up a yumeya spool for either of your shimanos or i'ze finesse for your daiwas, you can use braid with them

Why can't you use braid?

I think there is some concern about crushing the spool as the line is so much stronger for a given diameter and there is no stretch. As long as you are using appropriate drag and refrain from trying to pull up submerged stumps I would think you should be fine. I have never seen anyone post a picture of a finesse spool damaged by braid.

I'm going to be honest here. last year I had a few different brands of reel. Shimano, Lew's, Pflueger and Abu and liked them all alright but wanted to stick to one brand. I had a few really good reels in the Shimano brand that had never given me any issues so I figured to stick with them. Thought about going Daiwa but in the end decided to stay with Shimano.

From left to right:
New Metanium DC
Core 100 MGFV
Curado I
Chronarch CI4+
Curado 200e7
Metanium XG
Stradic 2500 CI4
Stradic 2500 CI4
New Calcutta Conquest 100

Everything is stock. I have played around with bearings and handles before on other reels but have never done so on my Shimanos. I might be ordering some goodies from Hedgehog sooner or later but Shimano does a pretty good job with what they provide. I absolutely love the septon knobs.
