Some quick things about the Aldebaran BFS XG Limited..
Comes in a slick black box with red foil lettering
Comes with 2 types of oil, not sure what the difference is between the 2?
Spare brake blocks, red and white
Weighed in at 4.9 oz
The spool weighed in at 9 grams (thought it would be lighter)
The reel is SICK... jet black with a shiny gloss finish.
and wait for it...

THE LIMITED SPOOL FITS THE REGULAR BFS XG 8-)

You need to swap the handles and knob, or get another pair for your BFS XG limited. Beautiful stuff =D>

Surprised the spool isn't lighter, a little disappointing...

The spool weight is with the SVS block right? Can't you swap that for a Avail 4 point block?

Yeah its the whole spool straight out of the reel. I'm not too worried about the weight of the spool until I get it out on the water and see how it performs. I doubt shimano would bother releasing this unless there was a gain over the standard BFS.

Forgot about the brake block. They weigh 1 gram so its closer to an 8gram spool. Not bad.

The ktf spool without bearing and block is 6.2grams. So performance should be pretty similar :big grin:

I wish I had 2 of the same BFS rods so I can test it side by side with the LTZ and the regular BFS

Haven't seen any picks of a 2015 twinpower yet. Has anyone got one?

Got to fish it for a few min today, throwing a 3.5 gram ul minnow. Getting long distance with over head casts and underhand pitches. 3-4 brakes on. Impressions tell me this will outcast the Revo LTZ, and definitely the regular BFS XG. The slick 4lb mono I was using was getting between the spool and frame on a few casts, the same thing happened with the regular XG at first. Overall very pleased.

Nice review bootytrain. Was just thinking of removing the spool on the bearing on my ktf spool so it will run on a single 730 and 1030(micro bearing) not sure it it will work. It seems to spin and crank fine without that bearing on the spool shaft.
Havent got to casting n retrieving this combination yet.

Waiting for hooligan to have his so he can do a direct comparison with the regular BFS XG outfitted with a KTF spool before i pull the trigger.

Mine will be here today :big grin:

Im pretty sure its going to be very similar performance between my ktf xg and limited. Since they got rid of the spool mounted bearing, i would prefer a pair of 1030's instead of 730's though...
