Post by bassinmaumee » Sun Feb 19, 2012 6:25 pm

Here is my first "High End" combo at least for me. I plan on getting more!
Here are the pics:

Now I need to get a 703/704c and a 702/703sf then go from there.Plus I would like to find a sol with a higher gear ratio for burning stuff.

Great start, and nice combo! =D>
You are going to love that DX702. If you have the funds, I would upgrade that handle with something with bearings and you'll really be blown away!

Beautiful combo bassin. I'm a sucker for orange/gold reels on brown blanks.

I have a NIB Conquest 51S that I've been thinking about keeping, and pairing with my DX701C...if so, move over PX68L.

That is an awesome combo, it is exactly what I use (50s on 701DX) spooled with 15# ss power pro and 6# flouro top shot.

The 702DX is a very versatile rod! I absolutely love it for shaky heads but it also works well with small cranks. It certainly looks very good with that Sol!

I was thinking of making a post about the DX702. It's such a great rod. Very versatile. I throw so many different things with it.

I have mine paired with a Alphas R-Edition for the moment.

I think I may have my sol supertuned with abec 7s drag upgrade and a paint job to match this beautiful dx.

Great looking combo. Grab some ABEC 7 bearing for the spool and a 5x8x2.5 for the levelwind, maybe some carbon-tex and you'll be rockin.

You guys are killing me.

It's kind of a funny story. I purchased a Conquest 51 from a shop in JP; it was on sale as they were closing their doors. I received a Conquest 51 box, but the factory made a mistake and shipped out a Conquest 51S.

I returned the package to JP, as I had no need at the time for a shallow spool, and really needed the money, but it was too late as the shop had closed for good. The package was then retuned to my home.

I contacted the shop's US store, and they agreed to refund me the purchase price and shipping charges. Soon after we had a death in the immediate family, and soon after there was a near-death in the immediate family. The unopened package then got put on the back burner.

Now I am thinking about keeping the reel, and just eating all the shipping charges. :-k

Great looking combo man! My Sol is paired with a DX703C.

You're gonna love that Dobyns, I'm up to 4 of them. And when did you start fishing Daiwas?

Get a set of Boca Orange Seals for that thing. I got a set for my Sol last fall and fell in love. Ordered 3 more over the winter and they'll be installed when my buddy in Texas sends them back from being cleaned in his ultra sonic cleaner.

We need to hit Metamora when it gets a little nicer!
