Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!
Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!
Being a transplant, what I call the "Florida spring" is almost over. Started fishing the 110 this season in January. Did a little test. I caught roughly 68 bass in my backyard in addition to the occasional gar, bowfin, etc. Lost two 110s to the fishing gods and had to replace a treble (one per) on two others and all the remaining 2 were badly banged up, but work fine. So, all told, about 75 cents per adrenaline rush with many hours of beautiful solace in between. The ONETEN is worth every penny. Even caught my personal worse (PW) this year. As the "Florida summer" begins to creep up, I think I'll start switching over to T-rigs and swimbaits for a while this year.
PW is the only one I was not able to release safely...

Fished down some deep grass lines this past weekend, and the water was super clear, perfect for some sight fishing. Didn't expect to see these out there, but when they came swimming down the grass line in 6-8' I couldn't say no! Placed my Xrap 08 perfectly, and the lead fish instantly inhaled it! Elephants eat peanuts to! She fought hard, but the NRX 842 put her in the boat!

Gorgeous! Those Reds really put a drag to the test. What reel is your 842 paired with?JBcrankaddict wrote:Fished down some deep grass lines this past weekend, and the water was super clear, perfect for some sight fishing. Get your kids hooked on fishing, and they'll never have any money for drugs or alcohol.

Thanks, they definitely do! I had a '13 Metanium HG on there with 20lb Maxcuatro. It made a few nice long runs, but I didn't let it get to far away. The 842 has some nice backbone when needed, was able to turn the fish a few times.

Lol, I have no idea, but it's A LOT! Definitely my most used inshore combo. I'm actually very surprised it hasn't broken yet, it's been through a lot over the years, but just keeps catching them! Thanks Jeff!jpd0144 wrote:Jeff ! Jeff !! Dude ! ... ya always on em !

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!
Since moving to Alabama from Toronto, I've caught bass on a number of lures I didn't have any luck with up north, but I hadn't caught anything on a fluke. That used to be my go to lure up north for smallies. Well, yesterday I finally caught my first Alabama fluke fish, it just wasn't what I expected...
