The Pic on the previous page is a Green Jobfish. The Pic on this page is a type of Coral Trout found in the Solomon Islands. Both have some pretty good dental work.

That dental work looks very similar some of our speckled sea trout. When they get big, their teeth get pretty nasty. I have even had a big gator trout take a swipe at me while another guy was holding it up for pics. Since then, I am a lot more vigilant when handling and landing them.aussiebasser wrote:The Pic on the previous page is a Green Jobfish. Wow Looks great!! What do you think about the rod blank? Also what parts did you use?skunked wrote:Took this pic before receiving the memo!
First time using my Curado 201i. Received it after waiting 4 months on backorder! I am impressed so far! This is a typical average peacock bass (tucunare) from the local lake here. Rod is a Med power custom made 6'6"Texas Sidewinder spiral wrapped on a Rainshadow RX8 blank. Lure is an Xcalibur Xrk25 one knocker lipless crank. 10 lb big game line.
Aloha!

I have the xx flip and very interested in the dx765 or dx 766. what's your feedback. Fishing same type of heavy covers.fishingandfords wrote:It's my second year with it and I love it. I have feelings it's more sensitive the the XX flip but I haven't used that rod enoughWill-Fish wrote:Nice pictures and great location. What's you feedback on the dx795.fishingandfords wrote:It's a great stretch and in the last 2 trips I've drifted down it 5 times and it's non stop action Plus it's a nice to get the fish out. The other side is super thick and it's getting hard to turn fish. Easily my favorite type of fishing.biggs wrote:In that 3rd picture there it looks like a SWEET stretch of lily pads!
Love the lily pads!
Good job, looks like you had a good day.
Next trip I might switch the reels around to see if I still get as many hits but the last 2 trips I completely out fished to people using same basic baits and the only difference was the rods and my mad skills

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!
The combination of the Super Moon (TM) and the storm front rolling through the Midwest Sunday Morning led to my best ever day of bass fishing yet as far as size is concerned. All fish caught from a Southern IL farm pond.
Between my buddy and I, we caught a bunch of bass in the 2 - 3 lb range.
Nice ~2lb on Terminator T1
Ended the day on this ~3lber on a different T1 (the first one was sacrificed to the fishing Gods).
Caught this 4lb beauty on a Powerbait Thump Worm. I believe it was my first fish on this new combo (Evercast Forge 1000 + Cabelas Tourney ZX Shakey Head 6'10" ML). Quite the christening. Hooked in the lower jaw, that fish wasn't going anywhere. Good thing too as it headed straight for the muck and made me drag it to shore.

A few minutes later I laid into this beast (at least by IL standards) with the T1 again. Might be my personal best. I haven't caught a bass over 5lbs since I was like 13. Fishing from shore 95% of the time in IL makes it tough.
Pic2
My buddy also caught a 4lber and several in the 2 to 3lb range. Our 5 best would probably have won the day in most any IL tourney. The weirdest thing was the smaller bass which we usually catch hand over fist in this pond weren't very active. Seemed like the big bass put all the other fish on notice.

Sick fish Matt!! I'm digging the throwback North Stars shirt too!!Iowa Matt wrote:Hmmmmmm.......no fish pics in over a week.......I'll add some from Lac Seul in NW Ontario last week.
Pike and THE ultimate pike combo (IMHO) a Steez XBD and Ryoga 1016 with RCS 1012 spool and Livre machined handle with titanium knobs. I love my pike and this is the best combo overall that I've used.
My wife with a walleye.
Biggest 'eye of the week......old fish with a huge head.
Same fish. Caught on a Storm Giant Flatstick (220mm or 9") and St Croix Legend
Muskie rod with Daiwa Pluton.
'Nother good 'eye
Last fish of the trip......only 48 more weeks until next time!
