Love seeing those giant European perch.
They are huge.

Agreed. They can be fun on light / ultralight tackle, the bigger ones can put up a decent fight. They are a beautiful fish to look at also.mrpao wrote:Love seeing those giant European perch.

I do love them also,and they put a real decend fight,sometimes I think it's a pike
with the nrx 802 or the megabass x4 orochi "house of finesse" with 10lbs braid on the reel it's just big fun to catch that fish!
and i think they're beautiful fish
and sometimes they bring some color into a grey day!!

Aside from being fun to catch, they are also excellent table fare!

Nice shots JB!
Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!
My son and I stopped by our local community pond and threw a lipless around. This is an average fish for this time of year. We had a little tourney on Sunday and winning weight for five fish was 25#, big fish was 6#. We couldn't find the 7 & 8s that we got in earlier in the week...

Had a few hours the other day after work, I was fishing the Lower Kings River, Ca for some fly fishing with my 5wt with a size 14 bead head prince nymph.
A few stockers but not bad for January, both were about 13" - 14"

I haven't been out much lately (bad weather) but the last time I was able to wet a line I caught 6 spots on a Lucky Strike RC series 3 square bill in the Copper Perch color. Nothing spectacular, just a fun fish to catch. I caught all 6 off the same flat, they had a nice school of shad pushed up on it and they were eating.
This was my first experience with the Lucky Strike RC bait and I have to say it did well. I don't think it's the bait that his original Lucky Craft square bill was but decent none the less. I guess it goes without saying on TT that I changed all the terminal hardware to Owner Hyperwire rings and ST trebles before fishing it

Nice, love them spots for sure. Good thing you changed that hardware, especially for spots. Good choices
