Megabass rod handle transplant
"It's not going to work..." That's what I was told by my rod-smith when I first presented my idea. But after talking to him several times, he finally decided to take the challenge. And couple of months later, the project is finally done!
The process of taking the original blank off and clear the inside of the handle without damaging the handle it's not as easy as we thought. Fortunately, after a lot of cutting, drilling and sanding, the handle wasn't damaged and the new blank was able to fit into the handle nicely.
I picked the Phenix Ultra MBX 606H as the new blank, and micro-guides for the rod. The weight of the rod is 5.6oz. Then I paired it with a TD-Z 103ML which has a R+ spool in it and the total weight of the combo is 12oz even.
Alright, enough talking, it's time for some pictures...
Well that's all, hope you all like it.
Thanks for looking!
