Buddy caught and released the Colorado state record SMB

Thought I would share. He stuck a pig in the first 30 minutes of us being there. He got a bump about 15 feet from the boat, jerked the bait a few times and we saw the fish. A quick pause and she pounded it!!!!! Made a two runs to the bottom and ran around the boat and I netted her after a short fight.
State record in Colorado is 6-8
This one on my accu-call scale was 6.72 which=6lb 11.5 ounces. Such a pig! Only bass we got all day
Packed full of eggs ready to make more giants.
Glad I got to net the beast and take the pics.

He caught this one the next day (3-11 and just under 18"). I didn't catch a single bass in two days at this lake. :doh: Water 47-53 degrees

Was caught on a jerkbait, using a shimano Saros reel, Gander house rod, power pro braid with a 10lb flouro leader.

jeeeeeez that thing is freakin FAT =D> glad to see it released too , let someone else have the pleasure of catching a hog like that =D> =D>

Is he wanted? Does he have warrants? If I caught a smallie that big I would want my face in the pic so you knew it was me catching it!
