and some more bas from the same lake...
and this is the biggest bass caught this Year from this lake, but the picture doesn't do justice to the fish! 55cm (something over 21 inch), this is GREAT for Croatia. The angler is me, hehe... Caught on a Northland Reed Runner spinerbait, white-charterus skirt...

What gear? I see two really big spinnerbaits hanging off of two of those catches, but just wondering what you're using.

Great fish! How did they get to Croatia?

In Croatia people mainly use spinning gear. Most of my friends use SPRO Blue or Red ARC reels (it is the same reel as Ryobi Zauber), it is not expensive but it does the job. I was using Daiwa Infinity Q 3000 reel (very much the same as Certate, but another colour. It's a EDM reel, European Domestic Market, hehe) and the rod was Gamakatsu Luxxe Saltage Cheetah 86H. We need long rods cause we fish from shore (boats are banned from lake Borovik).kingsriverrat wrote:What gear? They were introduced. Bass are native to North America and the first bass in Europe were introduced in Germany i think in 19th century. After that they were stocked in Hungary near border with Croatia. When the river Drava flooded the area (the river Drava is the border between Croatia and Hungary), bass came to Croatia. And bass were also stocked as comercial fish in some of fish farms here, so fishing clubs could buy them and stock their waters, like they did in Borovik.reelblues wrote:Great fish! Those bass and the looks of that lake have some HUGE potential...
Just curious, what type growing seasons do you have there and how much forage is available? From the looks of the trees on the shoreline and the top of the flooded trees, it appears that the habitat is primed for bass growth!
