I only have 200 miles on it right now. But the onboard computer tells me that I am getting almost 17 MPG while driving around town. That is what I used to get highway with my Dodge. When I tied the boat to it, it dropped down to around 15 MPG. The Tundra tows as well as the Dodge, I had no noticeable difference. My Ram had a 5.9L engine.TommyT wrote:mhood - I bought a 2007 toyota tundra SRS 5 last month with the 5.7 liter (371 HP) V8 and i'm getting roughly 16 to 17 mpg. I have to say this is my first toyota and I love it. I traded my full size chevy in and it doesn't even come close to comparing. I'll never buy another GMAC product again. I let me friend drive my toyota and the next day he went and traded his Dodge hemi for a tundra. He just purchased an add on after market kit that will increase gas millage by 30-40%. I'm letting him field test it before I put it on. Supposedly it pumps platinum or something into the vacuum lines whichs causes the better gas mileage. I'll update when he tests it.
Now is the time to act. Toyota is trying hard to sell their remaining 2007s and with buying this at the end of the month they were willing to deal.
I also got them to throw in a backup camera and monitor. The eye of the camera is mounted in the tailgate. This will have obvious advantages. It is on order and it should be here in a couple of days. They threw this in on the deal as I was talking about a Tundra that had one at a different dealer. They did not want me to leave so they gave it to me for free ($775 if you buy it).
