5/17/07--3 baits--3 Bass

Post by Lightninrod » Thu May 17, 2007 12:30 pm

Went down to the two farm ponds again today. Started out in the bigger one in my boat. I hoped to get a topwater strike using a unique bait and I did. Sunny, almost no clouds, high 70s, little wind and a 4 lber hit the Slide Jack at about 11 AM.

Couple of dinks there too and then I went to the walk-around pond and caught a 3 lber off of the KVD spinnerbait. Worked back to the upper, shallow end at about 2 PM and a 5 lber hit a Chatterbait which was the first nice Bass on a CB in a while. Couple of more dinks and I headed home at about 3 PM.

Nice Dan.. I see you braught out the arsenal.

That Slide Jacks eyes look exactly the same as the eyes on the Bass you caught it with.

I always take 8-9 rigs with me and yes, you're right about the eyes. I'd never noticed that  .

GREAT job LR!! Those are some nice fish! I need to try some topwaters during the middle of sunny days...I've never really done that a whole lot..

Nice one's Dan. I've also been throwing the Slide Jack but haven't caught anything of size. I;m deadsticking it a lot with the ocassional twitch and sometimes just a slow crawl with pauses in between.
My biggest worry is that my wife (when I'm dead) will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it.

LK: I work mine a little more, trying to impart a frantic motion and then a pause. The bites have come on the pause after the action. Don't give up on it. It's a true "thinking out of the box" bait.

Thats a good thing as it resembles the Bass in your area pefectly from the looks of it. ;)
