PICS... Custom built GLX

Post by Bass Pro » Wed Oct 04, 2006 9:57 am

Just got my newest addition to the arsenal in yesterday from Mattman. I can't thank him enough for the time, effort, and tremendous craftsmanship that he puts into his custom built rods. Truly a functional work of art!

Rod spec's:

Blank: G Loomis 783 GLX
Guides: Titanium framed SiC's
Grip: Split rear grip with no foregrip with cork inlay
Thread Wraps: Black primary with silver metallic trim
Fuji exposed reel seat
Custom counterbalance weight system for a perfectly balance feel

its a MH rod what do you expect. The blank is pretty thin its just the butt piece that seems thick. I like the split with the different colored cork.

Thanks guys! 8-)

Without the balance weights it is around the upper 2/lower 3 ounce range. With the balance system added, it is in the mid to upper 3 ounce range.. It feels lighter than a factory built MBR 783 GLX.

Not sure yet TJ, I am thinking about a Calais 100.
