9-10-06 Lakes WAY DOWN! 16-20 feet

Post by Nitroman77 » Sun Sep 10, 2006 5:56 pm

Well I made it up to my favorite lake near home and have not been there in a month or so since they have been doing so much construction to build a boat ramp and parking lot. The one lake we fished today was about 16 feet down and the other lake is 20 feet down. :( Fishing was tough, but we caught a few using everything from Spinnerbaits, Worms, Flukes, and cranks. Seemed like the bass were still in deep and not following the bait yet, but will be here in the next 2 weeks or so.

The water is usually up to the bottom tree line where all that grass has now grown in.

Well you have your pics, and if the water ever goes back up you will have a great ref. for all of the rocks , dam layout and structure.

Nice, last summer our lakes got that low, I was so busy fishing, I didn't bother to take any pics.

How many folks were walking around with metal detectors? There were tons here when the lake was down :)

HAha I didn't think of that. No one its almost impossible to get a boat in unless you have a HUGE lift or a 150 foot cable to pull the boat up the hill. We didn't even attempt to put the boat in there, but the fishing would have been great.

We had a 14' V hull jon boat, but it was heavy a crap and we didnt want to "try" and walk it up that hill haha. So we took it to the boat ramp and it was much easier.

Yeah, mine is way heavy, I've been contemplating getting a 12 footer just for the little lakes and such where the ramp is nonexistant, or sucks
