9/9/06--Nice Zoom VT Bass
Got to the swamp pond at about 11 AM. Thru a Barely Legal Vixen from the bank and caught a keeper. Caught 4 or 5 2 lbers and dinks on a Zoom Vibra Tail worm and then hooked a 5 lber. She sawed the 8# test Seaguar INVIZX line on an underwater limb but it held. Quit at 1:30 as it was starting to drizzle.
Topwater keeper
5 lber
Again
Skinny?

Nice fish Dan. What reel is that in the first pic? I ve been eyeing those Zoom VT for a while now but havent picked any up. They seem to be working really well for you. I think Im going to have to try them.

Re: 9/9/06--Nice Zoom VT Bass
Thanks y'all.
Joe, it's an old
TD-X103HSD.
Here's some help on rigging the VT:
I rig it with a 1/16 oz screw-in weight and a 4/0 Sugoi(EWG) worm hook. Look at the worm and on the top and on the bottom, you will see a 'seam' or a mold mark. Run the hook thru the center of its 'head' bringing the hook out of the seam on the BOTTOM of the worm, making the 'V' in the tail point downward or up-sided-down. Bring the hook back thru the worm, piercing the seams on the bottom and on the top, keeping the worm straight. When rigged, the bent shank of the hook should be on the bottom of the worm and the 'V' should be pointing down too.
Cast it as far as you can and if you think they're "looking up", start reeling just before the worm hits the water's surface. Buzz(need a 6/1 reel for this) it back to you just as you would a buzzbait. With the 'V' pointing down, it catches the water and slaps back-n-forth making a fish-like sound. I'll 'kill' it near a stump or a laydown and let it fall to the bottom.
All my bites this year have been in shallow water either as it hits the water or as I hop/twitch it back on the bottom.

Nice fish there, LR.
How do you like the Seaguar INViZX as compared to other fluorocarbons you've tried?

K: It's OK but I can't see that it's much better than Seaguar's CP. I've only used the 8# INVIZX so that's not a fair comparison to the 15-20# CP I use. I would order it again though.
