the third one from the left (cracked) looks sweet. Reminds me of a CLU paintjob. Very Nice =D>

Thanks :)
Got some jigs in clear, drying, I really like those!

There are actually three cracked finishes up there, but I only have fluorescent light to work with, better pics once the storm goes away!
Speaking of CLU, the chart one is assembled, and packaged up, going to Kelly tomorrow :)

*not a plug* (well, not really)

I'm gonna offer these for sale once I get off my tail and finish making the site.

I'd take pics of the jigs, but they're not really dry yet, the hurricane is slowing everything down!

Again, NOTHIN'S NEW. James Heddon came out with the first crackleback paint job c1910. The legend says that his wife tried to hurry up the drying process by putting a bunch of lures in the oven. The paint cracked and the green crackleback underwater minnow was born. It was a hit and the finish was used in green (common), Sienna (a bit rare, and beautiful), and blue (very rare).

Incidentally, who or what is CLU? Old geezers have a hard time keeping up with all these initials instead of words.

Thanks ROG, It's also commonly used in crafts/scrapbooking type things :)
Curing things in the oven is a common thing now for powder paints, heck, lots of paints.

CLU is Custom Lures Unlimited. Kick-ass work that guy does.

dampeoples,
Nice looking baits!

Who makes the Chartruse/Shad colored skirt on the chatterbait shown in the picture? It looks just like one of my favorite colors!

So, Is that how its done? You paint it on and then cook it in the oven and it crackles?

ChuckE - Skirts Plus

bigpapajim - that's not how I do it, that might work, I heat the paint to cure it, it strengthens the powder type paint.
