8/26/06--All Tube X Bass today plus a new 'pegged' weight

Post by Lightninrod » Sat Aug 26, 2006 12:34 pm

Went to the swamp pond near Elko, GA today from 11 AM to 2 PM; sunny/hot(low 90s), no wind, low water level--stained but clear, few clouds, and water temp at 89 degrees.

Lately, the Zoom Speed Worm or a cr/bait has been my go-to catcher but Vertical's Tube X took the honors today. I pitched it mostly and caught 7 or 8 with pics of four. I also was trying for the first time, a new weight that hooks to the hook, keeping the weight next to the bait's 'nose' as though it were pegged.

Tube X 2 lber

Another 2 lber

Vertical's Tube X

Parasite Weights

Elseil, Daiwa Custom, Sunline fluro, Sugoi hook all did their job.

Thanks y'all :) .

illini: They're durable IMO. I caught 7 or 8 on one tube.

fp11: Yea, it worked out great today. I've always used Gambler's screw-in weights(I need my weight to 'stay' with the bait because of all the wood where I fish.) but since they no longer can make them and I don't like....no, since I hate their new ones, I'd been looking for a replacement. The only thing I don't like about the new weight is it has no rattle but that tube is partly hollow, allowing room for a glass rattle to be inserted although I went 'rattleless' today.
