Steez pics in action
Here are some pics of my new Steez right afther catching a 6.5-7 lbs. pike... There were more but we prefer fishing than taking pics. Don't mind the boat's look... That's a lake where they've got some ugly boats, but fish are just as nice :):)
I matched the Steez with a Daiko Scylas, 7', 1/4-3/4 oz. lure wt. The reel was spooled with Sunline Machinegun Cast 12 lbs. Surprinsingly for its small size, the Steez can handle this kind of fish without much trouble. I'm sure it'll do just as good with even bigger fish... The wet tournament drag is a noticeable improvement over the TD-Z as it's much smoother... and once again I found Cal's review to be spot on . One can feel the washers working while the fish takes line. I'm happy with the Steez, it casts just as good as the TD-Z TypeR+, it's lighter and with a better drag. Now I'll have to get some carbontex drag washers for my TD-Z

On that lake they only accept fishing from their own boats ... and sure they look like hell But it doesn't bother me, if I catch lots of fish.
Yesterday I fished from a pretty boat... but no fish I caught only a couple of small pike.
Dan, I stand corrected - Cal is always spot on!
When I'll get more action, I'll post more pics.

Man thats another healthy looking pike. The rig is not that bad as well.
Re: Steez pics in action
It's a very nice stick for the money... the craftsmanship is nothing but perfect, as you would expect from a Japan-made rod... the action is a Regular-Fast, which suits my needs for reaction baits. The power is there, as this stick can get the fish you've just seen in no time... this rod is not overrated in power, but a true 1/4-3/4 oz. lure wt., 8-20 lb. line, and maybe a little bit more. As far as sensitivity goes, I can feel anything with it - and when a fish strikes, it gets directly to the brain ... very sensitive and powerful stick, without being too stiff.
