The latest and greatest from Megabass

Post by GamblerHydra » Thu Aug 10, 2006 2:01 pm

Pagani F1-63Xp-Dti
Length:6'3
●Lure Weight:1/4-1oz.
●Line Lb.: 4-14Lb.
●Blank Material DNA TITANIUM

There is not much I can tell you about this rod. It has not made it to the megabass japan website. I am the first one to get one in the US. It is probably my most unique megabass stick I own . It is all Ito. It has a jade custom ito reel seat , unlike anything I have ever seen. It has a cork pistol grip of very thin diameter. It was built for dog walking Giant-Dog X and baits like the POP MAX. It is the Evoluzion rod of the Pagani topwater series. The pagani uses a softer graphite , and therefore less stiffness to the rods action. For this rod they added the DNA TITANIUM wire application. However, the DNA is not visible like on my other Evoluzion rods. It does have a distinct pattern though of like little prints.

It is my first venture into a 1 powered rod. I just can not see how the rod is rated up to 1oz, and only down to 1/4. It is almost noodle like, but with a very strong butt. The blank has two very opposing characteristics. It is a very lively feel. The ratings just seem crazy, though nothing about this rod is traditional. .

I was trying to show that butt end, but there is just to much reflection even in candle mode.

Let me know how you are getting on with this rod :) :)

I have for a while now been considering placing an order for one, but have simply been put off by the relatively high lure rating compared to the low power rating.

I've always found that to be a bit strange :( :(

great minds think a like ;) Let me be a guinea pig and fish with this a little bit before you blow a bunch of money on this. The ratings make no sense. The rod just seems to noodly to handle a 1oz bait. It is going to take a unique audience to enjoy this rod. I know my fellow american anglers will not find much use for it. However, someone like MHOOD who enjoys lite powered rods , and is more a pleasure fisherman than competition will probably love it. I am going to put it thru it's paces throwing the pop max at Spotzilla, and Stripers. the first time I hook into a big spotted bass, or 25lb striper we will know quickly what it is made of. I got a year warranty so what the heck.

It does have orange thread , and the scale/watermark like pattern is a brownish orange. It would mesh nicely with a orange pixy.

The rod is simply BEAUTIFUL
But, for a F1 rod it is something "strange" it can handle 1 oz lures with 14 lb. Pagani rods are generally for trout fishing....while I have seen HUGE trouts, I think 10 lb line is enough to fight them. I am very curious to read the results of your tests. Keep us updated!
