Keitech FSPEC KTC766F-SPG
Keitech FSPEC KTC766F-SPG
Just got my Keitech FSPEC KTC766F-SPG
It's a 7ft6 rod, spiral wrapped with a Titanium Torzite tip top and Titanium SIC guide train, Fuji blank through reel seat, weight is 130 grams.
Rated as a medium heavy from 1/4-1/2 ounce, but seems to have a solid backbone to it just with a initial observation, the tip is very lively and should make a great bottom contact rod.
It feels plenty sensitive just playing around with it.
Balances surprisingly well for a 7ft6 rod with a Bantam A MGL

Re: Keitech FSPEC KTC766F-SPG
Have always been interested in their rod offerings, considering their baits are top notch.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!

Interesting rod. I am interested in the sensitivity.
Also noticed the spiral is setup for a right hand reel. Spiral should turn toward the handle side so they are both on the same side of the rod. At least thats the logic I have heard and follow in my spiral builds.
Might have to get one of these to try it out.

It's a split 50/50 it seems on varying forums, I have custom rods that all have spiral guides that wrap the same side the handle is on, I don't leave my rods on my deck at all so the way the guides spiral makes no difference, this is my first spiral guide rod that wraps opposite of the handle.amso4 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 29, 2023 5:42 pmInteresting rod. I know most of the big saltwater anglers prefer guides spiraled opposite of the handle, canceling the torque of the retrieve and the pressure of the fish on the rod, so I guess you could say the Keitech rods are wrapped for a left hand reel.
Re: Keitech FSPEC KTC766F-SPG
Solid tip rods are a hate it or love it kind of thing. My intial reaction has been negative and I have since warmed up to them but I'm not sold yet. My M+ is heavy drop shot and jig dragging rod. The UL is light drop shot, tiny treble hook baits and UL wacky worms. The solid tips are super flexible and rob you of some hooksetting power but also help from moving a bottom contact bait too far when making rod movements. You can easily shake something in place or make short hops. Just make sure you load the rod deeply on the hookset.
Re: Keitech FSPEC KTC766F-SPG
My new real control is real stout even with the solid tip no problem driving the hook home, on this one it's not as powerful not soft by any means though, the additional length should help, We'll see once I fish it, should work well with a Swing head.LowRange wrote: ↑Fri Jun 30, 2023 7:19 amSolid tip rods are a hate it or love it kind of thing.
