Post by Sh402 » Thu Apr 28, 2022 5:55 am

Does anyone know if carbontex makes a drag set for conquest Dc 100? If so which set?

Thanks

i tried to upgrade the drag too.

it wasn't much improvement, and not worth the trouble imho.

reason: the drag clicker pin requires a lot of finesse to put it back.

to effectively increase the drag of Conquest DC 100, you need to forego the drag clicker.

No worries.

If you’re interested; the 21 Antares DC is definitely a better caster, with smoother and stronger gears, stronger drag…
Mind blowing. You can cast it in a typhoon and I swear the DC control is sooo good, you barely have any feathering in your spool.

Only downside >>> Just no clicking drag.

If upgraded drag power if what you are looking for, consider the 2022 Conquest XG model. Shimano got rid of the clicker for the XG so you have more drag disc diameter to play with. And I find the XG gear to be much smoother as compared to the HG.

I'm interested in this post. I've owned quite a few generations of DC-based reels, and from my use/opinion/experience, the older Calais 200's were much better casters (distance) than my newer versions, such as the prior version to the new 22 Antares...which I thought was over braked.
Having said this, I've truly enjoyed my time with this little 2020 Calcutta 100 DC, and I use it for many different things...it'll flat out toss a frog into the next zip code. Drag however...rather anemic, which typically only bothers me on initial hook sets.
I've not tried or held the 22 Antares DC, and curious as to what makes you think it's a better caster...assuming compared to the reel being discussed in this thread. All of these reels are insanely smooth, so which one's smoother or not is of little interest to me... but if you feel one is more durable and a better caster, I'd like to hear more details if you have the time to elaborate.
