Reel Choice for Sedition SDC-700MG-FTW WHITE FALCON 7

I have a Sedition White Falcon 7 on the way and I'm trying to figure out what reel to pair it with...Was leaning toward a Shimano Calcutta Conquest, but wasn't sure what would feel better on the rod, the 100 or 200 size. I'll be throwing a few different things with this rod: smallish wake baits, shallow cranks, small swimbaits like the Deps Slide Swimmer 115 and Gan Craft 128 etc. Any idea on what reel might work/feel best?

I noticed that a couple people on the forum owned the rod, so I figured I'd take a shot...it is uncommon and ridiculously priced, but I love trying different high end rods...addicted!

To play off the silver hood, light blank and purple:

Monoblock Vilola, 100X, LIN10 Orign, TD Zillion HLC, Old Ryoga or Pluton with purple parts, silver tricked Abu Ambassadurs or Antares of some variety.

To play off the black seat:

LIN10 Black Jungle, modern Ryoga, Zillion TW HD or Tatula HD Custom with 153 spool. Maybe add white Gomexus knobs to the mix.

The broke option:

Revo Toro S. White Max with a purple Aliexpress deep spool.

Also a TDZ Ito would look great too. The gold front plate to play off the gold winding checks and the purple engine cover to play off the purple winding checks. Maybe get a deeper spool with also a stronger braking profile like a T3 MX/Ballistic spool or Ryoga 1016. Kanji cork knobs for the cork handles or even those ridiculous ZPI Anchorfin white knobs like I have on this thing:

Wow, thanks LowRange, lots of great suggestions...color matching is somewhat secondary to finding a reel that feels and fishes right on the rod, but I'm definitely interested in a bunch of the ideas you've thrown out...great stuff and much appreciated!

Conquest with OG Daiwa corks and purple knob caps and be done with it.

Sweet rod. Definitely something low profile. A big heavy round reel doesn’t fit the performance of the rod. Once you get it you’ll see what I mean. I didn’t buy a new reel for mine I had a zillion svtw laying around so I supped it up wit a spool and some aesthetics. It worked so well I never bothered throwing something nicer on it. I like the 7.3 brass gearing and cast ability of the ZPI PG spool. Plus it’s a little heavier than most of my Steez reels and balances nice. I’m sure you’ll find something sweet to throw on it. Sorry my pics always look like crap here.

Thanks for the info Domthewon. I’ve been trying it out with a Curado DC, but I did order a Calcutta Conquest 200 for it. I thought the good would be a good match…if it doesn’t feel right I’ll look into other options. Thanks for everyone who has offered advice. I really like the rod though…it’s my first glass rod and it’s a lot of fun so far. Build quality is excellent and it’s got a great feel when casting and reeling cranks.

Right on. I’m sure that will make a nice combo. Definitely a fun rod and different feel than other glass rods I own. Enjoy!
