No Shipping to the U.S. From Japan?

Placed an order on TackleJapan and I did not hear from the shop for days. After inquiring regarding my order, I received this:

The Japanese post office will stop flights to many countries and regions on April 1.

That sucks. I just am curious that if shipping will stop in April, why they can't fill my order in January.

I wonder if they can use FedEx?....

That is super unfortunate. Usually they ship my stuff FedEx though. And I wonder why like you said if it's stopping in April why can't they ship it now? Seems like an odd situation. Hopefully they will rectify this soon I like ordering from them.

What’s a reason Japan Post Office stopped shipping now, if they only going to stop flights on April 1?

There's no USPS (EMS) service from Japan to the US right now because of the pandemic. Most vendors are using FedEx or DHL as a substitute, but this costs quite a bit more. The smaller shops have a tough time with these options for some reason - probably cost and difficulty finding a location to drop off the packages or arranging a pick up.

On the plus side, if they do offer FedEX or DHL, the delivery time is much faster.

I’ve got quite a few things the last few days from Japan. All shipped DHL or FedEx and they all arrive faster than ordering from shops in the USA.

I’m sure the shipping to the USA just varies by shop and carrier as the others have mentioned. The biggest cost impact has been small packages (Avg $30-35 now it seems even for small items), rods were usually FedEx before anyway.

Since April 1, 2020. They haven’t shipped since last spring. All my stuff has come via DHL or FedEx. Absolutely no issues.

all my recent orders from Japan have come via DHL/FedEx and arrive in less than a week. Cost is usually 14-20$.

JapanAngler does deliver thru FedEx if that helps, got my reel within a week.

Anybody order from tacklejapan.com recently and know what shipping time is like?

I’ve never ordered from them and it’s saying EMS is my option with no charge so I’m worried about time.

FedEx or DHL lately have been 2-3 days. Faster than if I order from most USA retailers.
