Evergreen TKIC Egoist Black

Post by Chode » Fri Oct 02, 2020 1:14 pm

Need some more info on this rod and looking for help. What's the upper and lower limit? Is the taper traditional fast? What's your main technique when using it? How's the sensitivity? Picture of the balance with reel mounted would be awesome. Thx in advance

I have the egoist tournament. I believe the cork and the Eva are the only difference. I would say 1/4 to 1/2 is were it is comfortable and 3/4 max and 1/8 min. The rod is extremely sensitive and comfortable to fish. I use it for trigs. It’s on the boat so no pictures, but would be happy to answer any question you may have.

what would u rate the taper? XF, F, RF? as far as sensitivity, would u rate it amongst the best out there ( i.e. ultima, rsr, oltre,
nrx, etc? lastly, the balance, is it right around the lock nut/winding check?

Balance is on locknut with a sv103. It is the most sensitive rod I have fished and it is a true fast taper. What are you planing to use it for? If you need a little more nut look at the gunslinger, a little less black raven.

I'm thinking 3/8-1/2 chatterbaits. possibly t-rig if I want to bring less rods

It will definitely handle a chatterbait in your range just fine. It’s going to feel like your driving on the rumble strip reeling that in lol. I personally feel it shines as bottom contact but to each his own. Buy it and fish the s out it.

Would it be able to handle a 1/2 oz jig with 4 inch trailer or should I go with a heavier one? If so which one would you suggest out of the Inspirare lineup ?

It will work but you may want to look at the gunslinger or the jigga stick. Gunslinger is 6’10, if that is to short look at the jigga stick

I don’t think you could go wrong there. There is also the new Orion black rose that looks intriguing for a wide variety of applications. TT just did a review of it. Good luck

I ended up with a Gunslinger and a Rapid Gunner and so far I am more than pleased. Thx for the recommendation

Your welcome. It’s easy to recommend some of the best rods available. It just depends on what your looking for and willing to spend on a hobby. Lol. Glad your happy, but thank evergreen for making ridiculous rods
