Megabass Rod Recommendation

Post by BassFreak » Mon Jun 01, 2020 9:55 am

Hi all,

So I have been using the 1st gen XX EMTF for straight in-line topwater stuff like buzzbaits, toads and ploppers and love it for hese apps. I’ve recently switched over to braid/leader fo these and find the micro guides are not ideal so to speak. Which MB rod would be similar if not identical to the EMTF only with normal guides? I’ve looked at the newer EMTF and Javelin but they seem to be more moderate and feel tad lower in power (prolly cause of the moderate action). I’m thinking braillist but don’t know anyone that has one or where I can handle one locally. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

The Gen2 EMTF is definitely a little more moderate since the 'dual function of the Gen1 EMTF was split out to the new Gen2 EMTF and the Braillist. Braillist would probably be what you're looking for, but if you didn't mind losing a little length the Diablo Spec-R might suit your desired application.

You can check the show and tell forums for a Braillist thread. ;)
