In my opinion the Neo spool and the M spool are similar. I’m not sure if you were talking line capacity, or actual spool capacity. I throw 10lb or 12 lb on both of the spools, and use them for similar weight baits. I dont have a line counter so I’m not sure of line capacity. I use them for 1/8-1/2 tw but usually 3/8 tw rigs. I’m not sure one spool is better than the other, but the KTF is more $. As for the PG spool I throw 16 lb on most of mine. KTF doesn’t have a similar spool to the PG and the versatile finesse I use w 6lb line and it can go lighter than I will throw. Usually around 1/16-1/4 rigs. I like all 4 of the mentioned spools and all have their purpose in my arsenal. Both the M and Neo are very good. I’d be happy with either of them in my reels, but I personally just wanted them all.Cracker wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 10:07 amCompare those spools to ZPI M and ZPI PG , is
the KTF Versatile Finesse Spool "KAHEN" Daiwa similar or matching ZPI NRC001M spool by capacity
and KTF Neo Spool "KAHEN" Daiwa similar or matching to ZPI NRC001PG by capacity?
Reason I'm asking, I have a ZPI NRC001M and I completely satisfied with it capacity using braid plus some backing.

Has anyone compared these to Cosugi Works spools?
Re: Daiwa KTF 30mm and 34mm Spool Availability
I've never purchased anything from Karil website, how much they charge shipping for smaller items; spools, lures etc to USA and is there any other fees? I'm finding only shipping charges for Japan areas.
Re: Daiwa KTF 30mm and 34mm Spool Availability
At the current yen rate it's about $25 shipping. He ships the spool in a decent size box, he could fit a bunch of other things in there if it were ordered. He also adds 1000 yen in tax or something to the spool because it works out to be 14,990 on the bill.
It's a pay to play item for sure. With that said, these resell above retail on Japan Auctions
If I buy any more spools (I have 3 now), I would be prepaired with other items I wanted from the shop to offset the shipping cost. As it has been, you scramble to just get the spool before they are sold out. Looks like he is picking up production though, on the 34MM anyway.
Re: Daiwa KTF 30mm and 34mm Spool Availability
While I am at it, I will share a big tip on the 30MM spools. Currently he makes a specific spool for the Steez CT SV and a specific spool for the Alphas CT/Millionaire. I ended up inadvertantly ordering one of each (I don't own a Alphas or Millionare). The only difference between the 2 spools is that he adds a 1mm shim to the Alphas/Millionaire spool to account for the additional distance between the magnets and inductor on those reels compared to the Steez CT SV.
If you own a Steez CT SV and your casting or pitching over 5 grams, go with the Alphas Millionaire spool. He set up both spools for casting and pitching really light lures (2-5 grams). That added 1mm shim on the Millionare/Aphas spool in the CT SV allows you to full cast and pitch heavier lures (5-12 grams) with more distance and control.
The spool has enough depth to load about 65 meters of 1.5 PE, which is plenty in most circumstances. Currently I use my CT/SV on the Oltre 6'7 Medium with Vision 110jr's, small cranks, IXI shads, neds, and Pop X's. It casts the more obtuse lures especially well into the wind.
If your going low (2-7 grams), by all means get the CT SV spool

Re: Daiwa KTF 30mm and 34mm Spool Availability
for those who have already used KTF spools. Have someone tried them with PE lines? and what dia/# do you use?
I have ordered NEO and BFS 34mm and not sure whether they will work properly with PE lines. trying to understand will PE line brake the spool or not.

Re: Daiwa KTF 30mm and 34mm Spool Availability
I have PE on both my 30mm Finesse and 34MM Neo, 1.5 and 2 PE respectivly. As with any light spool, just make sure your drag is set properly and dont try pulling a snag where you would be putting extreme pressure on the spool and you should be fine.Slevins wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2019 11:36 pmfor those who have already used KTF spools. Also when spooling monofilament do not use any tension on the line. I learned the hard way and crushed my KTF spool for a 09 Aldebaran
