High end JDM rod recommendations
Re: High end JDM rod recommendations
Take a hard look at the Ultima's. I have the 170MH and 172H and they are at the top of my collection and an absolute joy to fish for very many techniques. If I could afford more of them, I would get a couple more.

Yeah, I have some Poison Glorious and Ultimas rods, and they are really cool rods. Love those handles.
However, my next rod is going to be a Daiwa RD.

Well, you are in the enthusiast section of TT, so the assumption is that you've taken the red pill as well, so the correct answer is all of the above.heyitzpetah wrote: ↑Tue Jun 18, 2019 10:01 pmYou guys are seriously not making it any easier to decide lol.. ultima was definitely one of my top choices a long side either major craft, daiwa, and mega bass. But now I see all these new suggestions, tough decisions...
Any of those choices would be good.

Conquest 843c Shimano jdm blank with a US warranty.
Save a few bucks and buy one used here in the for sale section. I have a few poison G’s and conquests, they feel very similar.= Awesome. The full cork grip is very nice. Drop a conquest reel on it to check all the boxes.

Ultima and Designo would both be at the top of my list. Designo is a blank manufacturer that used to make blanks for companies like Evergreen (anyone remember the triggerless Stingray model? ).
I like TD-Z's

Yes! The triggerless Stingray was new rod for this season. Loving that rod for bait finesse, unbelievable sensitive and a ton of fun to fish.

No mention of Fenwick Japan? Some very, very nice rods in the lineup.
