Thanks for the heads up. I bought a 151HG from eBay last night before bed. I woke up this morning to tracking information and a message from the retailer thanking me for my order and giving me my tracking number again. Can't wait to receive it!

Going fishing with it on Monday. I tried uploading pictures but good old Tackle Tour says they are too big!

I got mine in yesterday. Man is this thing sweet. Feels just like my Metanium and Chronarch MGL's when I turn the handle. The red is a nice dark red with a shiny dark titanium accents with some red metal flakes in it. The tension control knob even has a scorpion etched into it. I can't wait to get it out on the water. I'm sure I'll be ordering more of these.

I can't figure out the bearings on the Scorpion MGL. It is much like that Bantam MGL dilemma which never got resolved (claims 8 bearings on US website and schematics say 9, like JDM Bantam MGL's claim).

The Scorpion MGL is different though, the Curado K has a 7 total system, which is the key most important locations, 2 on main shaft, 2 on pinion, 2 on spool, 1 anti-reverse. If the Scorpion has 8 total, I hope they added one to the levelwind rather than added 2 to the handle knobs (1 each) and removed the extra mainshaft bearing. If they did though, should be an easy addition from the Curado K to further smooth out the Scorpion MGL. I know it is minor, but it throws me off when the counts differ.

I know the Aldebaran reels are short a main shaft support bearing, but most new Shimano's have this covered, the Chronarch MGL, Metanium MGL, Bantam (JDM for sure, probably US model), and Curado K/DC.

Anyway someone would upload a schematic picture? That is what solved the issue for the most part on the Bantam MGL.

From my best guess of reading Japanese, my box says there's 7 bearings. From the way the handle knobs turn, they feel like there's only bushings in there. As for the levelwind, I'm not sure on that on yet. I keep a pretty good stash of those bearings in the shop and I usually add them to all my reels whenever I get new ones.

Thanks. If it has 7+1, they probably added one to the levelwind, normally the Scorpions are a slightly upgraded Curado. Also possible that the count is identical to the Curado K, and it was a simple misprint to list as 7+1 rather than 6+1. As long as a reel has bearings where the Curado K does, it covers the KEY locations. X-Ship should require 4 total on the pinion/spool, and it is nice to see Shimano add main shaft support for more and more reels. $100 range Daiwa's (not the junk CG series) have dual main shaft support, but I doubt they will add dual pinion support due to the design of their spool shaft on cheaper models.

For those that have the K and the 19Scorpion, is there a significant difference in spool depth/capacity?

Its a JDM reel. Most JDM reels have smaller handles. Its for the "people" on that side of the world. Thats their trend.

I think the XG model still gets the 90mm.
