That is absolutely, positively, the most ridiculous thing I've have ever seen from Daiwa USA. How in the Wide World of Sports do they think they can market this reel in the US at that price when it's basically the same price point as a Steez SV TW in Japan. The US SV TW went up $50 for tariffs, OK big deal, but a $150 premium over that? NO WAY!!!!

They just lost one sale with that stupid move.

What’s really sad is to watch all the comments about buying from Japan for better pricing while the gents from local shops like tackle trap who advertise and are able to answer questions on TT and have see the better pricing overseas and then see they are $50 to $100 more. And can’t complete.

This must be an ideal candidate to tune for lures 1/16 and less. Any Air style or even lower weight tuning spools available yet?

Nothing at 30mm yet. There may be hope in the future, as there have been aftermarket spools introduced for 32mm spools (SS AIR, T3 AIR, SV Light)

Interested in these other 32mm SV spools ?

Are they available locally or thru tackle trap?

Any you know of that may have slightly higher capacity?

The real question is why you would buy one in the US when you can order it from Japan for $225 cheaper? I think we will see these on the USDM market for a year or so and than they be discontinued due to poor sales. I'm not sure what raises the price that much compared to JDM. Are tariffs and custom fees $200 per reel?

The huge price differences between JDM and USDM for the same reels seems pretty common, i.e. Metanium, Aldebaran, etc. What I can't understand is the justification for a $150 price jump over the regular Steez SV TW. Does the smaller frame and smaller spool equal $150? Am I missing some other cost differences?

The JDM version CT is even currently listed with a cheaper MSRP vs. a regular Steez SV TW on Daiwa Japan's website!

I have both and in my limited testing CT SV is bit more capable with lower weights but not a big difference. Ergonomics wise CT is more comfortable for my hands.

I have a Steez Harrier Finnesse rod (1/16-1/2) that I was planning on putting the SV light Ltd on.

Now I think I will sell and use the $ to purchase and put the Steez CT on it.

For aesthetics I wish the CT came in 7.2 (red) instead of 8.1(purple), it would look better on the Harrier Finesse.

Is the overall size comparison of the CT the same or smaller then the SV Light Ltd?

It's slightly less braked in my opinion but not significant. Here is video on YouTube comparing both in casting, not sure how accurate his numbers are but both reels seem similar.
