The 6.3:1 weighs 148g, 8.1:1 weighs 153g, does this mean the 6.3 has aluminum gears and the 8.1 brass gears?

Not sure if the 6.3's are aluminum but I know the 8.1's are brass. From the looks of the weights I would have to agree with your assumption.

I know the pinion is brass. I heard the main gear is brass/aluminum hybrid.
This is the way.

correct. I have the 6.3 and it has the same alloy gears as the SS SV 103H

Bringing this topic back to life. I just picked a SV light LTD and would also like to know if there is a higher capacity spool available to use on this reel?

Quick question.
Can anyone verify what spool diameter is on this reel.
And if there is any other SV spools that will fit that are a tad more capacity.
Not a lot deeper .but maybe like Alphas SV capacity or 105sv capacity..

Still trying to decide b/w this and the CT Steez SV.

Even the CT Steez SV capacity would be good.

But would like to find out what diameter the spool is on this reel first.

Thanks,
Eric

32mm and looks like there is not anything with more capacity.
Thus I returned for a Steez CT SV

No, but it holds plenty of 8# fluoro and more than enough 10-15# braid. You can use heavier line for pitching and skipping just fine. It's pretty much a BFS Steez, so if you want more line capacity you should probably just buy a Steez SV or CT instead. Personally, though, I absolutely love mine. I have the 8.1. It's a sick finesse reel. I haven't used it for short lining heavier stuff, but I have no doubt of its capability in that regard. The drag is smooth and powerful, as is the retrieve, it's an incredible caster, it's super light weight, it's sublime. I added some black Hedgehog parts and OG Air spool bearings to it and it is one killer reel. I use it with 8# Invizx on a 6'8" ML BFS rod rated 1/8-3/8, 5-14 and heaven smiles upon that combo. [-o< O:)
This is the way.

Like Poisonokie already said this is a awesome reel but it’s a finesse reel for sure and it excels at being that, I have mine on a Phenix Feather ML rod and it’s a awesome combo that weighs under 10oz spooled up with 75 yards of 8lb SunLine sniper. Yes it’s a shallow spool but 75 yards of 8lb line will do the job and if you want something stronger you should be able to fit a lot different super lines to handle heavier tasks. It if you really need a bigger spool get a SS SV 105XHL

The spool on the SS Light is 32mm(not sure if that's already been answered). If you want to go the other way, making the reel MORE of a BFS reel, Aliexpress has a shallower Ray's Studio spool available. That spool also fits the SS Air and Alphas Air.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

Is there any other options for 32 mm spool? I bought a sv light body a while ago for curiosity but could not found a spool for that. I'm current having a presso spool on that and there is a 1 mm gap.

Not positive if it will work, but the SS air spool is also 32mm and hedgehog has them in stock.

Yes, it will work. I have swapped spools between the Alphas Air and SS Air. All the Air series spools will swap between reels, except the unicorn that is the Air Stream Custom(thats a 31mm spool and the Pixy spools fit them).

From all the 32mm spools, I prefer the SS Light Limited the best. I'm probably the odd ball here, but I didn't like the reel as much as I wanted to. Though not as bad, it still has that somewhat hollow and toyish feel that the SS SV has. The paint wasn't all that great either. Just my 2 cents. I kept the spool, and it now rides in my Alphas Air.

They're not for everybody, just by the nature of their design. I see what you mean about their hollow feel. They feel refined to me, albeit in a different way from the Alphas Air or something like a Zonda or OG Zillion. They are just so light and effortless to use it makes them seem ethereal in a way rather than feeling ultra connected. They're more airy than rock solid.

Did you have the 6.3 or 8.1? I have the 8.1 SV Light and the 6.3 SS SV 103 and to me there is a distinction between the two in terms of feel.
This is the way.
