What were you trying to accomplish? I've torn apart a few handles and knobs myself. I wanted to see if riveted-on knobs could be reused. I wasn't successful.

Stealing the insert out of them for use in homemade wooden/cork knobs.

Cheers on these knobs. Add some real character to those reels. Looks a bit beyond my skill set, but you planted an idea I'll be mulling.

Those knobs are beautiful!
Did you use one of those mini lathes that are used for turning pen blanks?

These were all turned on a full sized wood lathe. I did not do the turning .
