Top shelf spinning reel
Hey TT,
Does anyone have any real world experience with a 2015 Daiwa Exist 2508PE and/or a Stella C2500HGS? I have the itch for a nice spinning reel, mainly for dropshotting but I don’t want to limit it to 80 yards of 4lb, hence the slightly larger sized models I’m inquiring about. I’m pretty sure the Stella is SW safe but I can’t find anything that says the same about the exist.
Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks!

the Daiwa Exist is the cream of the crop!! Smooth is a big understatement for sure!! The smoothest reel I own even smother than my Steez TWS!! I use mine for dropshot and light T-rig and floating worms. Don't have any experience with the Shimano.

Thanks JWF! What size Exist do you have?
Re: Top shelf spinning reel
I've used the Stella STLC3000XGFI for dropping shotting and other spinning techniques with no problems. The extra spool capacity makes it more versatile for me rather than 2000 which is for drop shotting or panfish.
The Stellas are incredible reels--super smooth drag makes it much easier to fish light lines and still land bigger fish.

Do a search on TT and I think you will find that most like the Stella better. I have both (older models) and you can't go wrong with either.

Re: Top shelf spinning reel
Thanks guys, I pulled the trigger on a Daiwa Exist.
Re: Top shelf spinning reel
Just wondering how you ended up liking the reel trying to get some information on the 3012 size? I was going to throw small jigs and heavier shakey heads with my Steez AGS 7 foot medium. I just want a really nice high end reel for it and I want to stick with Daiwa. I would appreciate any response, Thanks again!

I picked up a '15 Exist 2510 earlier this year. The benifits of the 2510 over the 3012 is the weight, 6.9oz vs 8.3oz. Your going to get a much better balance on the Steez AGS rod with the 2500 series. The 2510 holds plenty of line, has the same drag as the 3012 (15.4lb), and in my opinion has the best handle size at 55mm.Cressy wrote:Just wondering how you ended up liking the reel trying to get some information on the 3012 size? The reel is simply amazing and a steal at the prices they can be had.

Running an ‘18 Exist Finese Custom LT1000 and man are these things ultra smooth.
Re: Top shelf spinning reel
Appreciate the responses guys, I was thinking about the 2510 size too. I had purchased a Tatula LT 3000 for it a few months back and I just didn’t like the feel of it for some reason and it was a little smaller then I wanted. Is the 2510 JDM size around the same as the LT 3000?
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

Last model Exist are on crazy clearance at Tackle Warehouse. Best price I have ever seen on a top tier reel from the big 2.Winstondry wrote:Hey TT,

If they were not Zaion and were Magnesium like the newest Exist instead I would buy a handful.....
