Megabass F7-76X VALDIVIA

Post by Rodster14 » Sat Aug 26, 2017 1:49 am

Does anyone have experience with this rod? It would be used as a combo rod for Carolina rigs and hollow bodied frogs.

It'll be a great rod for both. Bought mine for frogs but now use mainly for Carolina rig.

It is awesome bottom contact rod and its a sweet frog rod with that megabass dual taper. It flexes at the tip just enough and then has another moderate flex down towards the meat of the rod.

It is great for casting football jigs, large worms, pitching and frogs.

I actually recently purchase this and loving it. I bought out to one outing so far and used it pretty much the whole day. I'm pretty new to fishing so i'm only currently using this to pitching, frog and bottom contact jig.

Has anyone tried it with large spinnerbaits or 5 and 6 inch paddletails on jigheads? I need a new rod for jigs and plastics around cover primarily but it would also see some frog action and I need it to be able to fish large spinnerbaits at night and swimbaits on jigheads along with Carolina rigs and football jigs during the day. Can it handle all this or would another megabass be a better fit

I have thrown 1oz spinnerbaits with no issues. Just started throwing soft swimbaits and so far so good.

Mine balances right at the fore grip with a tatula sv on it. From what I have heard the whole series is very well balanced.

Ok guys, the blank and the balance appear to be good, how about the grip? I like a full size grip where my hand doesn't fall off the end, any thoughts?

TommyG, I have big hands and the grip fits perfect in my hand. I do not feel like my hand is going to fall off the end.

Thanks KevinL, nothing worse than a new rod that just doesn't fit right.
