Just received my new Metanium DC and it came with these. Anyone know what they are for?

Are they the same width as the ID of the spool and the same circumference when wrapped around it?

They used to come with the magnesium reels to protect the reel from the reel seat, but those look different.

It came with the real seat protectors as well, have no idea what these could be for.

Used to have two 15 Met DC reels and didn't get those. Were they in the box? Did you order from Japan Lure Shop?

Yep they were in the box and yes I ordered from JLS. I've also seen it in an unboxing video but the guy just tossed them aside. It wasn't in English anyway.

I didn't get any of those with my Met DC. Can't think of what they would be for either. Hopefully somebody does.

I am going to hazard a guess and say those are backing for braid on the spool? That or a label to put your line lb on for the reel. Those are the only 2 things I can imagine those are.

The backing thing fell through with the nope and nope answers to my questions.

Stickers to apply the line to the spool without a knot.

While not my preferred way to do so they do grab the spool tightly and resist the braid slipping while on the spool.

They are for braid so you can tie the braid directly to the spool that's what I use them for on my spinning reels.
