Jackson rods JPY ?

Post by jiggerjake » Mon Apr 10, 2017 7:17 am

Anyone familiar with the rod brand "Jackson Rods" JPY ? I got to fish one of the "Bastard" series rods last week from a guide who had one on hand that was given to him when the Co. owners visited and left him a few for clients to use.I thought it fished really well and was not a bad looking rod either.
I Googled the rods and came up with the only brand that listed a "Bastard" in their line-up but I think the rod he had was branded with another name like "Ouie" or something like that. :-k
Anyway would like to hear some feedback from anyone who has owned one.

Search for the Jackson rods post on this site. The bastard and super tricksters were used by many on here. I had the super trickster 6'4" light bfs rod. It was a great rod, super light and nice sensitivity.

You'll have to import one if you want one. They can be purchased new or used from bass.co.jp

I still have my STC-69M, they are great rods for the price. I don't see anything wrong with them.

Don't worry, it'll be $255 to your door. Bass.co.jp will ship 2 rods in one tube for $100 so it's worth picking up a 2nd rod.

I bought a 6'4" Super Trickster from Tackle Trap a couple years ago. Presently I have a Zonda10 on it.

The Bastard series is the one below it and about $150. The Super Trickster is over $200.
Very pleased with the Super Trickster.

I believe it to be the "Sleeper" of JDM rods. Very sensitive. Have had the Alpha Ito and Airy Red Pixy on it also.
I think those reels are perfect matches for that rod.

Have the 6-9 medium all rounder with a Zonda HH, very nice versatile rig.

Really nice rods for the money, have a Bastard BTC-631L and a Super Trickster Bait Finesse Plugging Funny bought from the tackle trap. Nice sensitivity, quality components, and they look nice; I'd buy them all day long at their price point.
