The KTF spool is even lower. If everything is the same (brakes and spool) as the 16 Aldebaran BFS, you can use the KTF spool for the 16 Aldebaran BFS in the Conquest BFS.MardukFIN wrote:My guess is 3-25g.Jibaro wrote:Does anybody know what lure weight is the conquest bfs rated for?

Re: 2017 JDM Shimano Reel Speculation
Anyone have any info on the new Stile? I see what JapanTackle has on their site, but not sure if this is the old or new SVS, and what frame this is built off of. Looks like a Curado 70 frame, but is lighter with a much longer handle and bigger knobs? Aluminum frame, brass gears and 5.7oz sounds like a winner. 4+1 bearings probably means no driveshaft or handle bearings(not a big deal). Seems like another nice reel to mess around with in the salt.

Japan tackle has the chronarch listed with a 90 mm or 96 mm handle
Surely this is misinformation. They have offered the xg in the new model and I understand that it will have the 96. But shouldn't the regular versions have an 84 like everything else? I also wonder if it has the mgl metanium spool in it. I can't tell for sure.

Shimano Japan also lists it at 90mm. I hope its true, I'd like a couple 90mm handle shanks to try on other reels.

Anyone know the weight of the Chronarch MGL? It looks real impressive and I'm liking that the micro module gears appear to made of brass. This looks like the next reel for me especially at around $307 USD with the exchange rate as of today.

Re: 2017 JDM Shimano Reel Speculation
I have no idea about this reel other than it looks freaking sick! I may buy one and swap out the spool and side plates to get svs infinity brakes. If you are looking for a small saltwater reel look at the Engetsu 100. Comes in low and high ratio now and a huge 102mm power handle and gripsJBcrankaddict wrote:Anyone have any info on the new Stile? Re: 2017 JDM Shimano Reel Speculation
Shimano finally released the specs on the Scorpion BFS. 165 grams and 35000 yen. So under 6 oz
Re: 2017 JDM Shimano Reel Speculation
Probably too early to tell, but does anyone think the Scorpion BFS price will go down below $250 by June? At $310-318ish, would rather just get the 16 alde.

No way, unless the yen really plummets. It's going to be around the cost of the Met dC.ibobpeb wrote:Probably too early to tell, but does anyone think the Scorpion BFS price will go down below $250 by June? At $310-318ish, would rather just get the 16 alde.
Re: 2017 JDM Shimano Reel Speculation
If I remembered right. Every time I pre ordered a reel from Japan tackle on the release day the reels are always cheaper somewhere else. Even with the discount. I still order from them at least once a year.ibobpeb wrote:Probably too early to tell, but does anyone think the Scorpion BFS price will go down below $250 by June? Does anyone know what the "exciting drag sound" sounds like?
