New reel: Shimano Flame

Post by LowRange » Wed Jun 15, 2016 9:32 am

Ahem:

"Snapper Mule en Lille's first micromojourgia powered aircraft and fire-smoothness, high-rigidity body of HAGANE
High spec model with power and sensitivity.
Significantly reduce the noise when you retrieve the gear engages closely, and to realize the stable "constant velocity winding"
While beating red snapper, or even communicate, which.
A faint Atari deep range and sensitivity to catch and even seize the eater of low activity in the
Large snapper cunning to great advantage.
Also produce a blissful sea bream lava game sound a light hit after the existing drug."

$204.86 and already sold out!

I'm guessing it's a more affordable alternative to the Stile and based on the Scorpion platform? Spool definitely looks lighter than a Scorpion 70 and it's similarly priced. I want and I'm not even a Shimano guy.

Lol yeah they released a video on that reel a couple of weeks ago, I was planning on picking one up for the micro module gears and the bad ass looks.

Who's got em other than ratuken? I want to get one on order asap and I don't even like purely centrifugal braking reels. It'll be my 1st Shimano baitcasting reel.

Official release date is June 16 so I assume they will pop up in the stores within the week.

There's also a castias based reel made from C 14+ for $107.

The more I look into these reels the more concerns I have. They're intended for snapper fishing rather than bass fishing. You wouldn't think that would matter but is it possible that the spools are shallow not because they are finesse reels but to reduce braid dig-in instead? Are they even casting reels? They aren't bay jigging reels like the Daiwa Smak and Alphas based
JDM Arids are they?

There's no reason not to be able to use the Engetsu 100pg for bass as it has the SVS infinity brakes. Not sure how much the spool weighs. I'm willing to be it's pretty much the same spool as the scorpion 70

It's a curado 70/scorpion 70 frame and side plates

Interesting. I love my Stile. This one might have to find it's way onto a rod of mine...

I am curious is the one based of the casitas the same material for the frame as the USDM casitas or is it aluminum? Based on the price I assume it is still the composite material.

I assume the one based 70 is aluminum just like the curado.

It's CI4+ instead of the graphite reinforced plastic (AKA graphite) of the regular Castias. I'm not sure that the other real is based on the curado 70 either. It has a shallower spool and is stated as a 100 sized reel. It's likely a curado 200 platform with a shallower spool.
