megabass daiwa alphas ito 103

Post by NorthernStrain » Thu Apr 28, 2016 2:45 am

Is this reel any good for $160? I've never really been into daiwa or finesse casing reels, but I want one now and I'm trying to get one under $200. But the pickings are slim. So does anyone know anything about this reel?

Clear plastic side plate cracks easy, can be replaced by sol side plate. Frame is unpainted and it may need polishing every once in a while. But like all the alphas it's a great reel. I think it's one of the most beautiful alpha, but I would not buy one.

My buddy has one and I personally don't care for it. The frame needs to be polished from time to time and I don't like the clear plastic side plate or nose piece. Debris gets inside the nose piece and looks crappy. My alphas sv outperforms it with light stuff.

As mentioned the plastic sideplate is very susceptible to breakage. Specifically the mag dial clicker, but also the entire plate itself. The frame is prone to oxidization. The handle will only accept 2 bearings, it has non-removable metal bushings on the bottom of the knob post (be careful when buying a TD-Ito as I have see these handles swapped as with the knobs on they are identical).
