I'm so curious that i will probably buy it but before investing money on a platform i've never fished with, i has questions! Wish there was a way to rent this damn thing for a week and see on my own *cough* when its not -15C* outside, tho *cough*.africanbass wrote:I think you have now fully covered the T3 defect list

If you don't fancy it,you should be able to flip it quick.
Just remember,once you pop(the hood),you can't stop.

Your making it a tough one. Seeking out reasons not to buy it.silversix wrote:Its a tough oneHogsticker2 wrote:I'll 2nd thatbiggs wrote:I don't know what to say...

Buy it, it's a sweet reel and if you dint like it, I'm sure you'll have no problem selling it. Maybe I'll buy it!

If you are looking at this reel on the Japan Angler site, It will cost you approx $300 Canadian dollars.
If you are worried about paying duties and custom broker fees and taxes, don't buy it.
If you wait too long, the reels will be sold out. That can happen very quickly.
I have to sell my T3 MX's to make room for some steez reels.
If my budget could permit, I'd be getting the Viola and keeping my T3.

I don't know what shipping to Canada runs when buying off eBay compared to the States, but these reels are readily available for 240 shipped. Still a great price considering msrp.
Re: How good is the Megabass FX68 Viola!?
It's the exchange right now. Our dollar sucks real bad right now and most items are not slipping through customs anymore. That $240 shipped is $340CAD plus customs so probably another $50 minimum.Hogsticker2 wrote:I don't know what shipping to Canada runs when buying off eBay compared to the States, but these reels are readily available for 240 shipped. Very enticing. What i did is send plat.jp a message asking if they will get the steez 103's back in stock. If they're completely discontinued and aren't receiving any, think i'll simply grab the Viola and see for myself if it has any issues or not. If they still have some for sale, i'll get the steez. Its lighter and with a shallow spool it could be perfect for bfs applications. So for now i'm waiting on their response, been almost 24h.StarTzar wrote:silversix wrote:Simply trying to plan this out. Re: How good is the Megabass FX68 Viola!?
The reel should cost me $295CAD. There's a very good chance of paying customs which should be around $55CAD. Then a pair of Air BFS bearings which is $42CAD. THEN a new handle and that depends, anywhere from $30USD to a nice RCS90mm handle for $83USD. THEN a new pair of knobs (SLP Lime Green to color match!) $51CAD and the chinese shallow spool which will be $56CAD.
So yeah, if i buy this reel, i will spend much more money than just the reel itself . Decisions.

Yeah, but it will look pretty bitchin when she's done. Those lime knobs will look sweet. I'm sure one of our Canadian members would have a 90 mm handle they would be willing to part with, maybe some bearings too. Post a wanted thread in the classifieds before you purchase. It's a sweet reel. I highly doubt you'll be disappointed.
Re: How good is the Megabass FX68 Viola!?
Good to know . And i just thought of this, i already have a pair of Boca OS7's in my ryoga1016 which uses the same bearing diameter (correct me if i'm wrong), so i could simply put em on the Viola since i don't really need them on my Ryoga. I never tried the Bocas for BFS, tho. Always used the HH air or the air bfs.Hogsticker2 wrote:Yeah, but it will look pretty bitchin when she's done. Those lime knobs will look sweet. Overall, to me anyway, is it's a no buy.
Too many other options out there. Unless you're dead set on getting one.
