Luxxe Oltre - Who has them, what do they use them for ?

Post by Jdmbassman » Fri Oct 23, 2015 10:47 pm

Hi all,

My latest love affair is with the Luxxe Oltre B70H. On paper it looks to be the perfect 1/4 to 3/8oz jig Rod with trailer.

At 7ft, I'm expecting it to be lighter than the NRX 893c I am used to therefore im expecting the Jdream 7.9 I have to be too heavy.

Anything better to pair the Luxxe Oltre B70H with than a new Steez SV103XSL ?

I'm really interested also to hear your feedback on this range of rods.

Cheers

Matthew

Soon to be three. I couldn't resist and the dollar is strong against the Yen so not that bad a deal. Shipping and customs to pay now :(

I've got the b70h, but haven't put time on the water just yet. It is one of the most beautiful rods I've laid eyes on...

With Drew, that makes 4. In true TT style, these rods are now mainstream :)

What reel are you going to pair it with ? I'm thinking a Steez SV103XSL (Stealth black) and changing out the purple accents for gold ones. What reel colors would nicely match the Rod ?

Old school, NIB Daiwa TD-Z Type R+... And I'm actually considering dressing that beauty up, with carbon...

I have to admit I'm excited about the luxxe oltre, but I think the "super dito noether" is going to be the one that get's my pulse going.

If you haven't already search google videos for the luxxe oltre, gamakatsu has a whole series of videos with their pros. Pretty much sold me on the b70h...

One more thing Matthew, you've in very short order gone through the NRX893c, DFM, and nearly the TKLC SS... That could easily be someone's dream 3. If you decide to sell the B70H, I'm calling DIBS!

Add an Extreme Mission and NRX 822 SYR to that list but I have a good vibe about the Luxxe Oltre B70H. I am hoping it will turn out to be my favorite and most used rod.

Welcome John and Robert. Mine will be used for 1/4 and 3/8oz jigs. Probably a Keitch Casting Model 1, I've tried the Deps, Molix, Evergreen and while the Megabass Survival Jig would be my favorite, I keep coming back to the Keitch for price, availability and the small size of the tungsten weight is great for sliding through cover. I plan to pair mine with a Steez SV103XSL with the purple accents replaced with Gold to match the rod and of course upgraded bearings and tuning.

It would be fun to know the plans for yours

I can't wait to hear how hear fish, tight lines fellas.
