What's a good cranking rod from megabass? Any recommendations?

What depths are you targeting? And what baits do you generally throw? Do a search on the forum for the Black Elseil and the Flat Side Special. There are others as well.

This as well as what is your budget? There are lots of good ones and the info will let us narrow it down for you.

I just recently grabbed a X7 Super Elseil to use for shallow cranks and it is awesome. It bombs liplees baits and was super accurate casting squarebills to cover. I havent used it much other than testing it out, but so far I am thoroughly impressed.

There are a ton of good MB cranking rods. It also depends what type of cranks you want to throw as well. If you can help us out with that and the budget, I'm sure TT can find the right rod for you :)

I'm looking for a medium to deep cranking rod. My budget is from $500-$700.

The GTA and GTZ series are awesome cranking rods and are made for just that.

X7 Diablo fast move is a nice crank rod too. The X7 Extreme Mission is another great choice and it's a super versatile rod that can pull double duty for a lot of other applications too. I'm sure others will have favs they'll also chime in with

I just picked up a FX 710X7 on TT that I going to try for deep cranks, it's rated up to 2 oz.

Cal what's the upper limit on the GTA, will it handle the 10XD?

I would suggest the same, the 7'11" GTA is a nice med/deep cranking rod, as long as you don't feel that the 7'11" is too big.....

Destroyer X7 7' Diablo Fastmove is built for this application. I grind deep regularly with it and I absolutely love the stick. To say it's high performance is an understatement... Looks super trick, too.

Fair warning; the machined winding check will ding the upper reel seat once clamped down. Just the price of entry, I guess.

Suggested MB’s rating on that rod is ¼ - ¾ Oz.

10XD is almost 2 Oz. It is outside of manufactures suggest lure capacity.

Disclaimer: I DO NOT recommend anyone over exceed the suggested manufactures equipment capacity.

711GTA is an awesome deep plug rod. I throw the Deep-X’s and Deep-Six on it a lot. Deep-Six is eighth shy of an ounce. Relatively heavy bait but 711GTA manages it well.

Upper limit on the 711GTA?

I have thrown fully rigged Spark rig (MB’s umbrella rig) on the 711GTA.

The Black Jungle Deep Crank Slow Roll is one of my favorite mid to deep cranking rods by Megabass. It's easily capable of tossing all but the giant "mag" cranks, but is just as at home tossing a 1.5 sized square bill, a spinner bait, chatter bait, full sized vixen, etc. It's well under budget now at $400.
