Beauty is obviously in the eye of the beholder. Fortunately, the 250 will be snapped up very quickly so you won't have to own one.

!!!!

I agree, which one is it? The only reason I refrained from a regular certate was its looks. But that looks awesome...like megatron

It's a Certate Vintage Custom. http://www.japantackle.com/Daiwa/Daiwa_ ... intage.htm The metal body is unfinished and has an amazing classic looking patina. The wooden knob feels great too. I picked mine up when they had them on TW about 4 years back. Every day I regret that I didn't buy like half a dozen. It is far and away one of my favorite spinning reels and the styling looks even better in person. They are nearly impossible to find even on ebay.

Here is a closeup of the finish this is a Mint reel. They even aged the Certate stamp on the spool.

The Vintage is a work of art. I did hear that they were aged in a natural stream. A friend of mine has one NIB, I went with hyper Exist Branzino. The Limited will only be available on the Aussie market apparently.

My Ito Ai looked like that until I polished it...something I soon regret as I had to keep doing it..

I think the Certate Vintage custom has a very similar (if not the same) finish as the Zillion ZDV.

Yes...Daiwa was definitely going for the same look as both reels came out about the same time.

A yellow limited edition certate, only 250 units.

I love the colour.

Cheers

Not a fan of the color but, it is still a Certate... I'm partial to the 2500R Blue...

Skeet Reese Limited Edition Daiwa Certate would've been a more appropriate name for this one.

For the targeted market, the Tim Morgan edition would be more appropriate.
