One reel must go, which one?

Post by GAMEOVER » Thu Mar 27, 2014 9:02 am

I have a Daiwa Steez that was imported from Japan as soon as it hit the market or a Daiwa Sol with upgraded abec bearings and an IZE gold spool and TDZ (I think TDZ, been out the game awhile) handle. Which one would you sell and what would be a fair price both are mint!

Depends. If that Steez is a 103HL it's pretty near worthless. Incidentally, I've been looking for a 103HL, so I'll give you $100 to take it off your hands. :big grin:
mint original Steez is probably worth around $400. Every now and then they'll end around $350 on the 'bay.
mint Sol is going to be $175 to $200. with the extras you can probably get close to $250.

If it were me, I'd hang onto the Steez over the Sol. Steez is lighter, has a lighter spool, and is more refined. There's also way more aftermarket stuff you can get for the Steez, e.g. interchangeable spools etc. The only thing the Sol really has over the Steez in this fight is that it's discontinued and therefore rarer.

I'm thinking you could get a lot of money out of that TDZ! Guys are always looking for those. I would personally sell the SOL and keep the two better reels.

I think he's saying the Sol has a TDZ handle, not a TDZ reel. I'd keep the steez and put a SV spool in it.

He's right. It was upgraded to a TDZ handle. Whats this about a new Steez spool for my OG Steez? :P

There is also supposed to be a 103 SV spool coming in June if you need more line capacity.
