Profishing Network...now I haven't heard that in a while...

Just like Brooklyn Bill for JDM stuff...

Those were places about 10 years ago to get stuff. Nice!

Gonna go with original abu morrums and zx's

Along with Abu suverans

Finor Ahab

And the amazing Finor Primeo! at the time she was it next to the stellas.

The original magnesium stradic from 15 or so years ago was killer for what it was.

Original Thunnus reels are better in every aspect but drag washer to what's out now.

The Abu SM series was right before the Morrum and was a great reel for sure!

How about the Daiwa Emblem Z and X reels?

Shimano Chronarch SF?

Definitely legendary but I'm not sure it fits the outdated part of the equation... :big grin: =D>

Yep. That little Scorpion, and this site, have cost me thousands of dollars in high end/JDM/enthusiasts tackle!! :D ](*,) :crying:

Many years ago, I introduced a friend of mine (and tournament partner at the time) to the Scorpion 1001 (too bad it wasn't a 1000 because I would have bought it from him). This site has started a tackle craze for me as well. Speaking of outdated tackle, I am finding new interest in my old made in Japan Daiwa SS Tournament 700. And I also bought a new (old) Fuego and should have another on the way hopefully soon. Love the TD-Z/Zillion body styles.

Agree on the body of the TDZ/Fuego/Zillion. The most comfortable and ergonomic of any reel I own. I just picked up a mint TDZ 103H off eBay for $125.......like I needed another reel!!! Couldn't pass it up. I want to get it super tuned and drop in a ZPI PG spool.

Those Scorpion 1001 are still one of my favourite reels of all time, and into the MG models as well. The one old Shimano I have held onto is the Metanium MG, was my first JDM reel and just can't seem to part with it.

I started using the older Fuego reels just recently though a purchase on a whim. Boy are they nice. Love that TD-Z/OG Zillion frame.

Can anyone give me some tips to figure out how to cast my morrum sx1600c hi-speed? There's no brake adjustments on the side plate and no brake blocks on the spool... just two (friction?) pins. She casts light weight lures a little too well and produces the most unpickable birds nests.
