New steez 105 SV spool

Post by mundo » Fri Feb 01, 2013 6:41 pm

I just found this new option spool for the steez! 105 size, stress-free versatile SV, seems to have a fixed inductor...

I don't think it is a fixed inductor spool, most probably it is a T3AIR like spool for the Steez/TD-Z platforms. ;)

Sure looks like a fixed inductor spool... haven't seen one in person or read a detailed and accurate translation yet though. Regardless, it's an interesting option for sure and I like the color :big grin:

i would guess this also... the pic shows a C-clip on the spool shaft, behind which is the spacer hiding what i'm guessing is the spring?

i've owned only a few fixed inductor spools, Daiwa & ZPI, and none of them have these parts on the inductor side of the spool shaft since the spring regulates inductor movement.

Yes, probably you are right. This pic shows a Daiwa Alphas finesse spool with fixed inductor:

...this instead shows a Daiwa T3 AIR spool, the inductor appears very similar to the 105 SV spool inductor:

No doubt! ;) \:D/

The SV spools for t3 and steez SV is not fixed, it's the similar to the air brake of the T3 air. I'm not sure but I believe it was designed by ktf. The ktf d.27 spools for alphas are of similar design.

That's on my to-buy list for sure. I have a few Air Metals that I will be trying the spools out in.

Will they be available via Daiwa US?

Does anybody know what mechanism pushes the inductor outward during rotation of the T3 Air spool (and presumably this spool)? I don't see anything resembling the tabs or angled surface found in Mag Z or V spools.
