just got one today, but the underside of the right side plate is slightly misaligned with the main frame....has anyone else had this or other problems with their scorpions?

i can't see crap with with your spy cam picture. have you tried loosening the cover screws and try to align it with the body?

Mine has a slight misalignment - but it is very tiny. The reel itself is super smooth and casts a mile out of the box.

i just took mine apart, noticed the sideplates are plastic, thats why they misalign.....

I believe the side plates are actually graphite. And I will have to take a look at mine when I get home to see if it's off. I've had my 1001XT for about 2 months now. I gotta say, it's an awesome reel so far. Very good on the performance factors. Casts better than my Core 51 Mg7.
