2pc pitching stick? (Help)
I'm on the lookout for a 2pc pitching stick for pitching 1/4OZ to 1/2OZ jigs. I must admit that i can't seem to find any 2pc versions. Ideally, i would prefer something not longer than 7' as i mainly pitch from the bank and not on a boat here. my budget is about the $250 mark. Any ideas and recomendations?

What about the Major Craft Beneyros BNC-682MH?
Length: 6'8"
Action: Fast
Line: 12-20 lb
Lure: 1/4-1 oz
Price: 20,300 JPY
That's just an idea. I've never fished that rod, but I've read good things about Beneyro rods

How about a custom? Not many factory casting rods made in 2pcs. Custom I think you might find alot pf choices.

Re: 2pc pitching stick?
I had thought of that, but not sure if that blank is strong enough for heavy cover fishing and also to set the hook. Am using a 6' 10-20lb fast action K's Labo Stage Lakeforce jig rod and find that it's actually not strong enough for setting the hook. more so, 6' isn't the ideal lenght for pitching. I'm also using my 6'6" 10-20lb Olympic veloce (fast action), but found that the balance of this rod is totally wrong and needs rebuilding.Papageno1791 wrote:What about the Major Craft Beneyros BNC-682MH?

Itchy,
My last resort would be to go for a custom crafted.

Looked a long time and in a lot of places for a good 2 piece rod for jigs/worms and pitching. Gave up. Ordered a custom 2 piece from Mattman.

You're right . I have no choice but to go for 2pc rods as i'm frequently on the move. kind of limits my choice of good pitching stick.wantthat2 wrote:Looked a long time and in a lot of places for a good 2 piece rod for jigs/worms and pitching. Gave up. Ordered a custom 2 piece from Mattman.

Here's one that may interest you....pretty much fits into your weight area and is two piece model. I have two of the Fantasista models and they are really great fishing rods

Fishingboy, maybe you can find something that fits the bill at http://www.frontierrods.ca/ These rods are manufactured by G.Loomis Canada.

I am pretty sure the Bosco rods come in 2 pieces, not to be confused with the one piece with the grip installation they also sale.

Re: 2pc pitching stick?
Also am looking for a 2-pc pitching rod (7', 3/8-1oz) to pair with my TD-Z105HL. (Just received it from Cabelas in an old pretty mashed down, torn, patched-up-with-tape reel box although reel appears okay and not used - but that's another story.) Anyway, I was hoping St. Croix would surprise me with their new Avids but it appears that there are no new models and there is no other change to the bass line-up except that the blanks now feature their IPC technologyFishingboy wrote:You're right . My custom 2-pc Otterods 5C68MXF is strong and sensitive but I don't want to go that route again if I can because I don't want to lose the blank warranty.
FB, take a look at the Fenwick 2-pc HMG. The 7' is not in the lure range you're looking for but just something for you to consider.
